"Niina" or simply "Nina," is a dark gray, 5yo Thoroughbred mare owned by Jane Rusconi of British Columbia. Nina is by Heroicity (AUS) out of Bett's Jet (USA). Nina is a lovely mover with a very down-to-earth, sensible personality, and is quickly becoming a farm favorite. Nina has started her eventing career, and is enjoying a wonderful season "learning the ropes" in New England.

Heroicity is by Cheraw (Caro) out of Fleeting World (Wolverton). He was winner of three Group 1 races including the Australian Derby and over AUS $1 million in 37 lifetime starts. He is the sire of 61 winners from 144 flat runners in Australia, as well as the sire of many steeplechasers, including New Zealand Grand National winner No Hero. In 2004, while standing at Hilltop Farm, Heroicity became the first North American-based Thoroughbred and the first Southern Hemisphere horse to be accepted to the German Hannoverian Verband.

Bett's Jet
Bett's Jet is by Valhalla Gained (Pass the Glass) out of Steaming Lil (Bold Destroyer). She had 32 lifetime starts, and was later a successful competitor in eventing and showjumping. Her other offspring include Dekorum, a 2002 mare by Catherston Dazzler, who is currently competing at the Preliminary level in eventing with Nathalie and Michael Pollard.
